Qualification Statement

Nov 7 th 2006, Candidate Qualification Statement filed with San Diego County Registrar of Voters

(This statement is constrained by Registrar of Voter rules to 200 words or less. You have to wonder why a candidate would pay $200 of their own money to post and have ROV translate a statement in the ballot document when an RCPG position provides no pay!!! (Wink!))

November 7, 2006 Election

San Diego County Ramona Community Planning Group

Dennis Grimes

Senior Program Manager

Are you concerned about Ramona's future and protecting Ramona’s rural character? Ramona faces many other planning issues, including inadequate and unsafe road conditions and out-of-character development. I share your concerns. For my platform, please visit: http://grimesdennis.com.

I'm admittedly a reluctant participant in the political process. However, I believe it's important for citizens to participate in community matters. Last year, I led my neighbors opposing a San Diego County-planned highway bypass that wasted money and did not help Ramona's road problems. We arranged coverage from television crews and newspapers, and I delivered a briefing to our 2nd District Supervisor and County staff. The road was taken off the map.

Qualifications summary: RCPG GP 2020 Subcommittee member... Principal author of the June 2006 Ramona Community Survey... I offer a fresh outlook, balanced thinking, clear communication, and teamwork skills to guide our community's land use and planning needs.
