Offering a Vision

Offering a Vision: Early last year before I ever thought I’d become further involved in community issues, and while leading an effort to make citizens award of problems with a new San Diego County "fee program" (Most would call it a new TAX...) called the Transportation Impact Fee (“TIF”), I drafted the below vision statement based upon discussions and ideas shared with many Ramona residents, this Vision Statement articulated as best I could, land use issues important to our community.

“What Ramona’s About” was published as “What Is Ramona About?” in a Guest Commentary in the March 10 th 2005 Ramona Sentinel newspaper.

Several folks who didn’t know me at the time clipped and posted this vision on their refrigerator doors. Certainly not the most glamorous display venue but an honorable and respectful place probably alongside crayon drawings by their children.

This posting was indicative of how this community vision strongly resonated some residents. The vision statement was also used as an agree (or not) thought stimulating lead-in for the recent Ramona Community Survey that many of you participated in.
